How To Create A New Dust Account

Summary: 

This article provides an overview of the sign-up process for Dust.  A valid phone number with SMS (text message) capability is required.  Dust uses your phone number as a secure way to authenticate you, and we never share your phone number with other users.

Before You Get Started:

Make sure you have downloaded the most recent version of the Dust app from the Apple or Google Play store.

Step 1: Open the app and tap on the "Sign Up" button

Step 2: Select your country code from the drop-down menu (the American flag) and enter a valid phone number.

Once a valid phone number is entered, the "Verify Phone Number" button will activate and turn blue:

Step 3: Enter the six (6) digit code sent to your phone via SMS in the six fields.  When you have entered the code correctly, the green check mark will appear, and you will be forwarded to the next step automatically.

Note: if the SMS message is not received immediately, wait for 15 seconds and tap the "Resend" button.

Step 4: Enter a valid username in the field.  Valid usernames are between 3 to 20 characters, and may contain letters, numbers, and the -, ., _ characters (dash, period, underscore).

Note: once a valid username is entered, the "Claim Username" button will activate and turn blue.
